ID Request: Just found in a graveyard FFS

Hi all, please find attached a really big ant (worker I think) found in a graveyard!! There was one or 2 just flying around but couldn’t see where they came from?

Well, nuptial flights should start in a few weeks.

Definitely try to find Formica queens if you can.

I am not sure of the chance of finding F. Fusca Queens in the U.K.
I believe they are a common species though.
But I was just wishing you good luck

Are there laws against keeping Formica there? I know there are in other parts of Europe.

I believe that only applies to parasitic Formica in most countries. There are a couple that ban all Formica, but I don’t believe the UK is one of them.Are there laws against keeping Formica there? I know there are in other parts of Europe.
