Does anyone have a cheap place(website) where i could get 16mm x 150mm glass test tubes? Or ones a little bigger like 18mm x150mm. All help is appreciated! :D

I use these: https://www.amazon.c...25-4be35d7258cc

they are 16x150m, you can choose between a pack of 10 or a pack of 25, they are pretty cheap, about a dollar to a dollar and a half per tube

I got some of those just a few days ago. They seem great.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

You guys pay too much for test tubes. Use Lake Charles Mfg. which is what Drew recommended (along with a bunch of other people). Its cheaper to buy from their ebay site depending on shipping (at least if you're in Cali. $6 for 10 tubes https://www.ebay.com...Q8AAOSwsYpaTSWP

$21 for 100 tubes https://www.ebay.com...aMAAOSwbF1aTSi7

On their website its under $3 for 25 but you have to add in shipping.

If you want even cheaper test tubes plastic ones might be better. They aren't as clear or slippery, but they also don't break as easily.

If you try and clean them though, they get all scratched up and foggy. Also not as good for photos. You make a good point that they are cheaper but only by maybe half, and I use them to collect stuff while on the trail, so I'm not carrying around glass in my backpack/pockets.

On a side note, hospitals use plastic due to safety issues, but they are one time use so it doesn't have to have longevity.

All the test tubes available are relatively inexpensive. The average hobbyist doesn’t need 100 anyway.

Ants_Dakota, LCM has 20mm tubes on their site but definitely not as great a deal. Probably would end up around $0.35 a piece after shipping.

I bought some at hobby town. I also found a holder too. they come with rubber cork toppers. I know there's another word for it.
