This is split from my old journal

I have 4 camponotus vicinus queens, all of which have at least 1 pupa. I got these from Vern a few weeks back. I put 1 of them into a mini founding chamber that I made, the other three are in test tubes, they seem to be doing well.

I got a few more of these from a trade with cocdeshijie, and he actually gave me a polygenous set!

Besides this set, there were three other single queen colonies, one of them even has 2 workers! I'm most likely going to sell the single queen colonies in a few weeks.

EDIT: The two worker colony just had another worker eclose

Unfortunately one of my 2 all black vicinus died last night. Prior to this, she was barfing up the perky pet she ate, and she had a dead larva. Her two cocoons are soaked in perky pet, but I will give them to the other all black vicinus in hopes that they will survive.

Ah, that’s too bad. It’s always sad when a queen dies.

On the side note, though, I also have a polygynous pair of vicinus queens.

I got 2 more all-black variety of these girls from a trade with Vern, they both came with large piles of brood and I expect workers should be coming in the next few weeks. I will be selling both the orange variety and the black variety later on when they get workers. One of the single queens I got from cocdeshijie just got her first workers, and the double queen should have their first worker soon.

Not much of an update, but I got a shot of an eclosing worker which I thought was pretty cool.
