1. Location (on a map) of collection: Near Mt. Hood, Oregon
2. Date of collection: July 8th - the day after a rain
3. Habitat of collection: Evergreen forest (Douglas fir, pine, cedar)
4. Length (from head to gaster): Around 15 mm, maybe a little longer.
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Reddish legs, black body, lighter stripes on the gaster.
6. Distinguishing characteristics: I believe she has one petiole node and two antennal segments.
8. Nest description: Found her on a rotten log - nearby ants of the same species had nests in dead wood and trees. 

 

My closest guess is that she's a Camponotus Modoc, but I'm new to this and would love to have some help identifying her. I can provide more photos if needed. Thanks!

Ants I have: Tapinoma sessile(2 queen colony). RED MORPH Camponotus neacticus(now has pupae!), Tetramorium immigrans (x3), Aphaenogaster sp, Temnothorax sp, Brachymyrmex sp.   possibly infertile   :(,  Ponera pennsylvanica, and Pheidole morrisi!  :yahoo: 

 

Other insects: Polistes sp. Queen

                    

Ants I need: Pheidole sp., Trachymyrmex sp., Crematogaster cerasi , Dorymyrmex sp. Most wanted: Pheidole morrisii

Certainally looks like Camponotus genus for sure, can't identify the sp. though as we would probably need more detailed photo.
