Finally caught a break!

Best Answer dspdrew , April 19 2015 - 1:09 PM

I forgot all about this. These were ID'd as Dolopomyrmex pilatus by James C. Trager on Antfarm.yuku last year, so Jonathan21700 was right. I didn't know anything about them at the time, but looking at this thread now is a lot more interesting to me since I recently found some of these queens. If I remember right, I think these all ended up dying.

Hi Guys,

I finally got a break and caught abunch of hopefully mated females. I did have a few questions and I needed help identifying. When I was walking, I noticed abunch of females struggling to fly on the street asphalt, it appeared that they had just got done mating. So immediately I did capture two. I live in Amarillo, Texas, and here is some pictures, if at possible. These arent very clear, but they are clear enough! Size is about 10 mm

Nice! I'm not sure what species those are, all I can say is they're Myrmecinae.

I think these might be Dolopomyrmex pilatus.
