I have a queen of both and I kinda don't wanna raise both. I will set the loser free. 

Btw I know most people here dislike AntsCanada, but he said that his favorite species to keep in NA is Camponotus Novaeboracensis. Why is that?

So...

Pls help!

I would hold both to make sure one gets workers, before choosing, but I like C.novaeboracensis just because of it having more color.

So once I choose which one should I wait till both get workers then set one(the loser) free? Btw, I think there's a good chance that the Camponotus Pennsylvanicus is unfertilized.

Well, would you rather have the loser found a colony or the winner turn out to be infertile? I'd honestly keep both until they have their nanitics, and THEN choose. After all, what's the use if the winner doesn't raise a colony?

I was saying more like don't count your colonies before they eclose. lol.

I think so, but it depends on where you are. Pennsylvanicus are pretty common around here.

Just keep both.  Higher chances of having a successful colony.

I think so, but it depends on where you are. Pennsylvanicus are pretty common around here.

 

The ants in MA are probably similar to the stuff in NY

Keep both, sell the one you don’t want. Camponotus are the easiest ants to sell because they’re big.

Sell where? Using the GAN project?

I've never sold one before

I personally like the look of C. pennsylvanicus better, as I really like the shiny dark coloration, and their larger size, but I would still advise to keep both till they get decent sized colonies to see which one you like better.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies. 

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
