1. Palo Alto, CA, USA.

2. 5/26/20
3. Sidewalk in crack between street and sidewalk. School close by, but otherwise just houses.
4. 7.5mm
5. Shiny black some with small amounts of orange on the bottom of their gasters. Orangyish legs. Not positive but no obvious hairs.
6. Two petiole nodes, no obvious spines, semi-heart shaped head, mandibles are pretty large and stick out (can see gap between them). Eye size is too small to measure easily, and I can't see close enough to count number of antennal segments, some short hairs all over.)
7. Anything else distinctive (ie: odor, behavior, characteristics relative to others in the colony, etc.).
8. Don't know

9. Possibly at night, but 5/26/20 before 7:30 probably right at sunrise. Temperature was high 80s yesterday and the day before, no recent rain.
10. Here are blurry photos, will get better when I can use my moms Macro (will be about 6 pm today)

Likely Tetramorium immigrans but conformation with new better pictures would be ideal thanks everyone!

So it would be a bad idea to put more than one in a test tube?

Yes. Just keep them separate.

Cool thanks! ...What if I don't have enough test tubes lol. I can order more but how long before they start ripping each other apart? Also I think they are fully-claustral so I shouldn't need to feed them until they get nanitics?
