It is not just a piece of debris. It probably is springtail remains or something. It was c shaped that’s why I wanted a side view picture but I knocked it away after watering the vial a bit. It was also kind of opalescent.

that's not something that was ever alive. A dead spring tail would look shriveled up, not to mention have noticeable limbs and such and not just a blob. I'm almost certain its just a piece of rock or some other inanimate object.

I am the one who actually saw it in person. I don't have a good quality macro where I can see that in good quality. Up close and in person it looks almost entirely like a larva.

I don't wish to argue on your journal, but Ill just say that your cams def good enough to make out that this isn't a larvae/dead springtail. I've seen both hundreds of times.

Gosh, she loves her food! I just dropped another small dubia leg in and she instantly made her way over to it. I am watching her feed on it right now. She just started pulling it underground even though it is about 4 times her size. She has also terraformed the vial so much. The dirt is always in a different position every time I check up on her.

How often do you check up on her? Not that you’re doing anything wrong, just curious.

I don't know, like every 3 days to a week? I don't update this every time I check up on her. I am going to check up on her less, its's just that she seemed really active lately so I wanted to give her some food because I thought she must be looking for some. She never seems to really react to light and I don't think that she is too stressed.

Nice! Hypo and Pons are unusually aggressive for such a seclusive ant towards food. Maybe try poking a little hole in the dirt to encourage digging/laying?

I think she has a burrow, but she doesn't use it as far as I know. She made a little trench across the middle of the vial. That is what she dragged the leg into.

She has another egg now. My friend asked to see her so I checked on her a bit early and found it.

Third egg has been laid. Hopefully that number continues to grow and she succeeds in raising a colony.

I just got back from my lake house and she is still going strong. I have only seen one of her eggs since I got back and it is understandable if she had to eat the other two to survive. I gave her a little bit of superworm guts.

The rest of her eggs were not eaten! Yay! I am curious how quickly the eggs will develop though.

I would assume fairly slowly.
