My neighborhood doesn’t have Pheidole of any kind.

Long overdue for an update.
As you might imagine, the colony is huge. They're at give or take 1000 workers right now. I feed them protein every day, and sunburst 1-2 times a week. There's always giant hills of pupae, and larvae skewed about the floor of the nest. I currently have them in the Mini Hearth XL in a container. There's gotta be over 100 majors in the colony. If I can get a good photo or video of the nest, I will. I might move them into a different nest eventually. Although very small, these ants are very fun!
This was about 2-3min after placing a cricket into their outworld.

This colony is insane. They now have over two thousand workers, and still growing very fast. They constantly have multiple mountains of pupae, and their water tower is carpeted with small brood items. They're now living in a Tarheelants Fortress. I will likely hibernate them for a few weeks to see if they'll make alates next season. They're constantly foraging. It's interesting how these ants can do well, even being from all the way up here in Wisconsin.
I have clips of the colony and queen in the video below.

I could do this with my Camponotus, but any other species would completely freeze.

It doesn't get too cold here in the winter, usually. It averages at like 45 degrees.
