Ant species emerges after 150 year underground

In Utah, a new species was discovered by Jack Longino, called Strumigenys ananeotes. It was previously subterranean and extremely cryptic, yet irrigation has triggered it to come to the surface.

It's a little outdated, but still interesting.  :)
