Lasius Nests

So I have a Lasius Aphidicola queen...

And I dug up a lasius nest and it was empty...

So then I dug up another nest and there were also no ants or brood...

So why do you think this is? It was raining and in the low forties. I also only dug about 10 cm deep(rough estimate).

Way too cold. The ants were probably much deeper down. Wait a bit until it warms up. Your parasite queen will be fine in the meantime.
