What is the best type of formicarium for the myrmica species? I want to know what everyone keeps theirs in. Specifically, do they like open chambers or do they like firebrick?

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. -Proverbs 6: 6-8

Not really. They do certainly prefer it but I had a small Myrmica colony sitting in a dry test tube for almost a month and they did just fine. They moved eventually but even then moved back into the dry tube for a few days.
Now they have some brood in both tubes (which is annoying becauseI want to replace the dry tube).
