I saw this as well and was wondering how multiple queens and workers and brood could sneak their way into a packaged formicarium and then shipped with nobody noticing a thing lol. But it could happen. You would never convince authorities otherwise but it could.

What do you get if you cross some ants with some ticks...?

All sorts of antics!! ...

Okay, I'll leave. That's the ant-ire joke anyways.

Few things about this

First, as far as I remember, there were no foraging ants near the petri dishes at the time of packing. This would consistent with the small colony size

It's also something that I would have no incentive to do. Swiggledork didn't pay for the ants, nor are they something that I publicly sell (I'm waiting for the colony to grow larger, this would have actually set me back). There is a disincentive for me to send free ants.

Third, if you look at anything I've said in the past, I've always been against illegal trade, and have no plans to do so in the future.

Also, considering what Swiggledork said which is that the ants were inside the hydration area, which is also completely out of sight, I would have had no way to check visually at the time, nor any reason to.

For recent shipments of petri dishes, I have taken the steps to check for any hitchhikers by (in this case, running water through the hydration chamber. This was an isolated incident, and I concede it was a screw-up on my part, but it will not happen again.

I will not deny that I shipped the ants, but I stand by the fact that there were no bad intentions, as well as the fact that I was unaware of the hitchhikers. If there's any way I can clear this up, any way I can prove the aforementioned claims or make this better, please DM me about it and/or post about it in this thread (Don't believe it counts as hijacking since it seems relevant to the subject matter)

As for any potentially illicit behavior of other members, I am in no way involved with those actions.

Knew there was a totally reasonable explanation. Nobody gives something for nothing. AC needs to take a lesson from this response.
