D. It looks like honey or some sort of nectar.
"God made..... all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds (including ants). And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:25 NIV version
Keeping:
Formica cf. pallidefulva, cf. incerta, cf. argentea
Formica cf. aserva, cf. subintegra
Myrmica sp.
Lasius neoniger, brevicornis
I think option A looks the most natural because insect honeydew and plant nectar are both clear solutions.
Although I would like to get other colors because I want colorful Myrmecocystus repletes.

In my opinion option A looks a little too dark for honeydew. To me honeydew appears to be a little more clear.

How many aphids have you guys milked? You guys realize that to assess the color of a liquid you need a LOT of it, right?
Aphid secretions might be green for all we know.
True.......... All the more reason to vote for D, then.

That's what I just said... A was the closest to what I thought to be natural.
I'm going off of what the professor at my campus who studies aphids said. I believe what she said was just anecdotal though.
people like it either darkest or lightest... so make it both
