Ok, so I am curious if others have tried this or not but to those that have, have you ever boiled wild insects or pests as a means of food for your colonies?

I have only known of one person to do this but I am curious if there are others who have done something of a similar variety?

I’ve done this for years, but now I prefer to put them in the freezer for an hour or so. Bear in mind, neither freezing or boiling will remove pesticides, so you need to be sure you are collecting from safe areas far from agriculture or worse Chemlawn/Truegreen lawn care fanatics.

I collected aphids off of my mom's flowers, and my Formica seem to like them. I freezed them to death and dipped the corpses in boiling water
