I'm not sure how fast they grow from egg to worker, but I read they will mate in the nest, so they grow exponentially.

Hi!

Very sorry to admit that I sent these accidentally. I have a huge Tetramorium bicarinatum colony from collection from local greenhouses which has gotten out a few times, and this was a little branch colony that escaped into the hydration port of a dish. I've been scouring my desk ever since and finding colonies in random places. Didn't know at the time of shipment and they hitchhiked.

I wasn't planning on outing you. lol. It wasn't anything you could have predicted would happen and I'm really happy to have a colony I wasn't expecting. They look like they are going to be fun.

The petridish formicariums are great by the way.

Man. Surprised to see there were so many queens. I ought to keep them on a leash...

Haha, had a friend take care of all my tramp ant species to keep them out. Webpage is in my signature.

Also it's not good cause it's illegal

Sure, during packing you didn't notice a bunch of ants crawling around. Did you just throw everything into a box and send it? What a weird excuse to "accidentally" ship ants. that's a new one, though not very sneaky. Next is someone starts sending random packages and goes "whoops ant colony inside, oh my how did that get there?".

The colony is like 15 workers max, "crawling around" is probably the exact opposite of what they did.

Even 100 workers would barely have been noticeable.

I dislike trying to take pictures of ants in a test tube. lol. There are a good amount more ants and brood, it just doesn't look like it in the photo.

Moved them into a mini AC hybrid nest. There is A LOT of brood. I foresee having to upgrade again in a short time.

I believe so. I hope so, but I don't know how large of a colony I want them to get to. lol. I do have a pretty large empty nest on standby for whatever colony I get up to that size first though.

You can limit their size by limiting their food supply and keeping them at room temperature.
