Hello everyone. Hope everyone is managing well in this quarantine time. I myself is trying to keep busy while this blows over. So I noticed some black mold in my camponotus castaneus fortress formacerium that I purchased from THA. It’s a type 3 material. Being that I have had a bad experience with mold before that nearly killed my entire ant colony last year I want to see if I should worry and do something before it’s too late.
here’s a picture. The mold is in the bottom.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I have seen ants survive in worse conditions.

"God made..... all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds (including ants). And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:25 NIV version

Keeping:

while we're at it, how are these types of formacariums cleaned? Acrylic types can just be washed, but they aren't good for formicine ants.

Yes I agree. If I attempt to clean the mold off before it gets everywhere. How do you clean these types of formacerium

Get spring tales. I use them to clean.
