When you obtain Stigmatomma and end up killing them. And blame it on gamergates. Even though you could've provided them with males.

That's why he is not and probably never will be a good antkeeper.

ah yes, killing them and blaming it on and specially developed attribute to help them survive in that situation. Seems like Antkeeper of the year material for me! Just like this'll eventually become a facebook group style forum!

If you guys havent seen his new vid, it is somewhat worse. He claims his fire ant colony was moving cause they need more space, yet it's clear that they start moving as soon as he peeks in on them, like, ya know, ants do?

As I've said, I'm 100% against releasing invasive/non-native/exotic ants.

But I got to thinking. The side that is anti-releasing/relocating native ants sound like they are either: hypocrites that don't care about pathogens or far right fanatical trump supporters, or closet trump supporters.

Why do I say that?

Well, for one before I get to the far right fanatical part. The hypocrisy comes that...if they care so much about pathogens, they should be going around killing peoples dogs and cats that go outside. Like, they should see someone walking their dog and go up and murder the dog. I mean, gotta stop those pathogens!

But then when you think about it. They care so much about pathogens, they must HATE migrants going to or coming from other countries/continents. Many migrants come for a better life from poor places with poor health care and spreading all kinds of pathogens that maybe they are immune to but not anywhere else. They must love trump banning so many migrants due to the virus! Maybe they even want migrants to be kept in isolation for months to make sure they are healthy...you know...like ...a concentration camp. But gotta stop those pathogens!

that's all I hear when the anti-native ant crowd talks, is they sound exactly like pro-trump right wing fanatics. Either they don't really care about pathogens, or if they really did care, they would hate migrants and immigration and want to go around killing peoples dogs and cats (and not wild dogs or cats mind you, they spread disease so they should want them all dead too, but even peoples pet dogs or cats can spread pathogens)

Like that side is the far right side of the ant keeping community. It does explain a lot. That or they are pro-immigration meaning they really don't care about pathogens, which completely nullifies every argument they have. And pro-trump right wing fanatics opinions don't matter at all, so that nullifies their argument as well.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

Well, as long as the anti-native crowd doesn't sprout their right wing fanatical believes again in this forum. They keep spouting off right-wing propaganda about releasing native ants because of pathogens. It sounds exactly like how a trump supporter would talk about immigration "those immigrants are spreading pathogens! No immigrants allowed!"

You're argument makes just as much sense as something straight out of Crazy Bernie's mouth. The two have nothing to do with each other.

They do, your side sounds like crazy right wing fanaticals.

Your side complains about pathogens, so by that line of thought, you should care about ALL pathogens. Immigration TO or FROM another country are spreading pathogens, you should then by default be against it.

I would not consider the anti-native release to be on the right. I would consider myself on the right, and I am not against releasing natives.

Pathogens isn't it at all. I don't give a darn about pathogens. Just like a Democrat, you're off your point. Captivity effects any organism, and releasing them has proven harmful. How could ants be any different?

I would not consider the anti-native release to be on the right. I would consider myself on the right, and I am not against releasing natives.

Couldn't we all just talk like this instead of BEATING UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE OVER THE HEAD?!!!

Exactly how a trump supporter would talk.

Supporters words:

Releasing a native species has been proven harmful

Which is pretty much what they say about immigration to other countries. Its pretty much exactly the same thing, they even say how harmful it is on jobs/economy/health care, and whatever "pathogens" they carry.

I am simply stating scientifically proven facts. Like a Democrat, you refuse to acknowledge those facts. There are scientific articles and many, many examples that prove this. And the government shouldn't waste money on immigrants who REFUSE to work. Everyone would be happy if they actually became citizens and willingly got a JOB!!!

I am not at all against immigration. Please do not throw these horrible, blanket claims out there. My Grandma immigrated from Sweden without knowing a word of English, and I would say she was an exemplary citizen.

And now automatically your opinion means nothing, trump supporters are the most racist hateful people in the US. You are a disease in this country, and your anti-releasing native ants stance explains a lot now. You are exactly what my original argument was about.

I'd love it if the whole population of Mexico immigrated and became productive members of society. But they don't. They come, and the government provides for them and they do NOTHING.
