Hello everyone!

It has been a while since I have logged on but during this time I have made the big move to Australia. Had to give up my two colonies back home in Texas but now I am looking forward to keeping ants here in Australia. I currently live in North Queensland where I have been looking for queens without luck. I was wondering what species others would recommend and what are the best times to hunt for queens? Any advice/help is much appreciated! :)

Hello! Are you following AusAnts on YouTube or FB? That might give you a feel for some local species?

Ant Keeping Depot sell ants as well as equipment if you're looking to buy.

From what I understand, flights are almost certain after rain.

There aren't the same restrictions about moving ants between states here, either (with a couple of exceptions).
Just… don't try to bring fruit into SA

It’s an amazing and weird feeling to leave your home country but an amazing adventure for sure! Only thing that has thrown a damper on things is this coronavirus, just was laid off work the other day.

On a bright note, some amazing ants here!
