There is a important time for everything, important place for everyone, an important person for everybody, and an important ant for each and every ant keeper and myrmecologist alike
Hello Illinoisan, if you're reading this than follow the instructions to obtain an Lasius aphidicola queen! If not then just go to a different thread. 1.) Send me a PM saying you want to obtain Queen Tyche and I will read it. 2.) Verify that you have a host for her as she is a social parasite and will not last more than a week without host brood. 3). verify you live in Illinois, and close if not in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago (Schaumburg if you want to be exact on how far you live). 4.) GIVE ME TIME TO PROCESS YOUR PM. I PROMISE I WILL READ EVERY SINGLE ONE, SO DON'T WORRY. 5.) Remember I only have one and I need to give her to someone before the end of the season otherwise she will die. Thank you for your time
I've gathered that they can last more than a week without hosts. I have also never had an L. aphidicola queen take brood, they need workers in order to found (usually a lot).

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. -Proverbs 6: 6-8

Sorry all but when my dad went to look for the amber queen he released Queen Tyche . He also didn't crack open the log the amber queen was in so I'll have to bike myself to get the hopefully alive amber queen, otherwise I'm going to have some major regrets...Anyways sorry about no exchange...
