At the same place where I caught some parasitic Formica queens( link: https://www.formicul.../#entry194393),I caught this queen:

About the best picture I can get, because the test tube makes it 3x blurrier.

well that was quick. She already has pupa and some fat larvae.

When something important happens, lol. Okay not a lot has happened BUT there is a Formica nuptial flight. Saw queens take flight and all that. Might get a video if feeling good

I'm always weeks late, anyway, queen got nanitics, about 8-9 of them! I never heard of this, even my lasius and tetra at most only get about 6 nanitics! Fed them a superworm leftover from my camponotus.

Seems to be gathering sand in the nest, wonder why..

Test tube is freaking moldy, gotta move them out, not hard, Formica are super tweaky.
