By adding a tube, I think it can work good to clean formicarium that is otherwise hard to clean.

That looks neat.
Too bad it wasn't battery powered, or rechargeable. Then I would likely buy one too.

There is a battery powered one. The price isn't very attractive though.

I will have to think about that one. A paintbrush and bead scoop seem to be working well at the moment, but I can see that changing as the colony gets bigger.

I changed my mind and went for the battery powered one instead. It can be modified to be pretty useful since the vent is separate from the main body.
With the battery powered, you could make an aspirator. Much better, than inhalating all the formic acid

if you find any mistakes, it's my autocorrection. it doesn't speak english.

I already use a small dust buster to power my aspirator.

This looks great, please let us know how you like it!!
My Journals:
I received the unit today. It was shipped from China.
And it worked out very nicely. Without any modifications, I was able to use it straightaway to clean garbage files of two colonies. This is literally a battery powered aspirator.
There were at least 8 dried pieces of mealworms in the garbage file seen above. All gone in 1 sec or 2. I had to open the side glass and the ants panicked but the job was already done even before they spread out.

Better late than never, but here is a picture of mine.
32 ounce deli container with a small dust buster. A cutting from a nylon stocking to keep the ants from actually getting sucked into the vacuum (not that it would hurt them if they did end up there).

Can you post a link to where to buy it bud?
