Can any one suggest a good macro lens that’s not to expensive but gets the job done to get good photos of my colonys(some very small species)that will fit an iPhone 8???

It does get good photos easily, but the difficulty of usage depends on person. To be honest, I find focusing a macro lense more challenging. Just gives better results.

Yes, otherwise I would not have suggested it and with some practice seems as if it may be adequate. For stationary objects it does a decent job but for small moving objects those are more challenging. Admittedly I have not yet used it much so time will tell for me how well it works out. I know several folks who have used it with great results. Also the best clip on lens in the world will not help if the camera in the phone is [censored] poor.
