I don't have an isopod culture as such, but I have reliable places to look in the garden.
The aphaenogaster longiceps won't tolerate large isopods, but I discovered over the weekend that they'll ignore the tiny ones, so I've rounded up a bunch of those and tipped them in; we'll see how that goes.

I have seen other Australians talking about springtails, and there are online sellers, but I've never seen a wild one.
Thinking about buying some, but then that's a whole other captive species I have to keep alive, and I already haveā€¦ a lot.

Hmm, I don't know about Aussie springtails, but usually springtails don't need taking care of ... with moisture + other animals' garbage/poop/lefovers they just thrive on their own. (Why they are excellent CUC.) They can generally be found in any damp dirt... if you get a scoop and put it in water, apparently they float (and if you blow on them, they should jump). http://www.ento.csir...collembola.html
