I am selling off some of my colonies because life has gotten a little busier. I was hoping to keep these until they matured a lot more but my loss is your gain.

I have 3 CA-02 queens, with around 5 workers, and lots of brood in a Tar Heel Ants Type 3 Fortress.

  • CA-02 is the one of the largest ants available to us in southern california.
  • They have long legs, mostly matte black head and thorax and orangish, yellowish, reddish, brownish gasters.
  • Each fortress has cotton in place to block access to the middle and upper chambers until they have more workers.
  • I have kept them away from a heating lamp/cable because I wanted to keep their population growth down since I was out of the country.
  • The nests cost over 80, not counting shipping. And I'm charging 70 for the colony which is MORE than fair especially because only a small number of people even have this species.

I am selling each colony for $150.

Local sale only. Cash, Venmo, or PayPal accepted.

Message me. Thank you.

Absolutely beautiful. I wish I lived in California. Would you sell them separate from the formicarium?

Sorry, I will not separate. I don’t want that hassle. It’s easier to keep them in the fortress.

Looks like a very interesting genus. To bad I don't live in Cali :(

There is a important time for everything, important place for everyone, an important person for everybody, and an important ant for each and every ant keeper and myrmecologist alike

"interesting genus"... Camponotus are worldwide. If you meant species, They're just pretty and large ground nesting Camponotus.

can't buy ants over state lines.
