Aphaenogaster occidentalis are doing nicely. I really want to get the bicolored variety someday.

yes, and the ideal setup would be a petri dish of soil or a premade nest.

Found a juvenile Kontikia ventrolineata in my tank, never seen these just pop up before.

Temnothorax got workers, Pheidole about to, and I got a rather late Solenopsis xyloni alate in an area where I havent seen them before.

Pheidole workers? I found three Coptotermes formosanus dealates yesterday. My springtail colony is rebounding in a big way, but I need to find more Isotomidae.

Ooh, that's great. I havent had much luck with isotomidae, but then again havent experimented with them much either. And yes, Pheidole.

Beautiful rove beetles. Kinda think they look myrmecophilous.

Well, it looks like the rove beetles may be Solenopsis xyloni myrmecophiles! Should be interesting.

Mmm yeah, should start getting those as well. They're not especially rare here.

Introduced them, queen doesn't seem especially receptive. it's likely these just live in the outskirts of the nest, feeding on trash and maybe the ants themselves.

:/ All the pheidole workers died. Not sure why, but the queen is fine as are the brood.

That’s amazing. I almost caught some myrmecophile crickets earlier this year.

There was a bunch at a huge tetra colony in my backyard.


Ants I have: Tapinoma sessile(2 queen colony). RED MORPH Camponotus neacticus(now has pupae!), Tetramorium immigrans (x3), Aphaenogaster sp, Temnothorax sp, Brachymyrmex sp.   possibly infertile   :(,  Ponera pennsylvanica, and Pheidole morrisi!  :yahoo: 

 

Other insects: Polistes sp. Queen

                    

Ants I need: Pheidole sp., Trachymyrmex sp., Crematogaster cerasi , Dorymyrmex sp. Most wanted: Pheidole morrisii

Kicking off springtail season with lots of baby Neanura muscorum, as well as some interesting mites.

Collected some Neanura, these are fairly easy to breed. My last culture died to mold, but they managed to pump out a few generation without any special care.
