One of my tetramorium colony’s just had a big population explosion then they killed their queen.second time this has happened to a tetramorium colony...any one have any idea why this would happen???only thing I recently did with this colony was out there nest barely touching a heat cable

Usually in monogynous colonies queens don't get killed by the workers but processed once they died. My Lasius niger colony did the same to their queen (and they refused to adopt another one even half a year later).

Ok that makes much more sense .i wondered why I had two die that seemed perfectly healthy and colony’s were both exploding

Well I watched two Lasius workers in my colony attack my queen. She managed to rip the abdomen off of one, but she died of her injuries (she was sprayed with formic acid)
