Today while feeding my aphaenogaster picea the queen ventured out into the outworld and started walking around in the frenzy. Is this normal and is my colony stressed and needs a move?

She just went out for a leisurely walk.

On a serious note, my queens do this too sometimes. I don't know what it means, but nothing bad has ever happened.

for some reason many myrmicine queens seem to enjoy doing this. it may be a throwback to when their ancestors were semi claustral.
