Pogonomyrmex subdentatus incident

So yesterday I captured some pupae from a wild colony that were one to two days from enclosing .i have some to a few queens that still didn’t have eggs and one of them eclosed one day later and the queen seem uneasy now near the new worker.isnit not good to boost with pupae?

Some of those queens could be waiting until after hibernation to lay, although I'm not 100% sure if norCal Pogonomyrmex species hibernate
