I walked out to my garage (where I keep my colonies) and found this guy on the floor about 3 feet away. Almost stepped on him. I believe it is Pseudomyrmex gracilis. I have (at least I think I have) them in my yard and they fly this time of year so assuming it is. Would love to get someone with a bigger bug brain than mine to confirm or correct me. 3. Habitat of collection: My garage floor - lots of oaks in yard, surrounded by some forest area.
4. Length (from head to gaster): 1cm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Black head and gastor. Brown thorax and petioles with some darker areas on thorax. Legs brown with black patching
6. Distinguishing characteristics: 2 petiole nodes, large black eyes
7. Distinguishing behavior: none
8. Nest description: no idea
9. Nuptial flight time and date: Assuming 10/23/2019, but only found one. The area has been very dry for a few weeks until rains this week.
