Are Tetramorium common in Russia? Here in Virginia, they are one of the most abundant ants in disturbed habitats.
I would like to hear the background stories of how your colonies started.

Tetramorium are like fire ants as they are basically everywhere, however unlike fire ants, they have found they're place in the ecosystem and thus, aren't considered invasive

It would really depend on where in Russia though.

yeah

There is a important time for everything, important place for everyone, an important person for everybody, and an important ant for each and every ant keeper and myrmecologist alike

If only the rest of the world was like this...

We have a saying: "Moscow was not built right away." This means that it takes time to reach any goal. If the goal is good, then the time to achieve it is not a pity :) Sooner or later, people will learn to understand and respect each other :) And for this to happen faster, you need to communicate more and have more common interests :)
That is probably the wisest thing I've heard besides how to care for Camponotous

Thank you very much friend :) I am very pleased to hear that :)

We have a lot of Tetramorium caespitum. They live almost everywhere, even in homes. When the flight of the queens begins, they just fly like mosquitoes. I just picked one on the street and started looking after them. A couple of days ago I made a small Formicaria so that they multiplied before they were transplanted into a large form :)

I finally was able to make a video about how easily, quickly and not expensively made formicaria for tetramorium caespitum :) But so far I have not made subtitles for it, although you can watch, everything is clear and true :)

In other words, we need to be more like ants! (Except for the part where they behead their own mother and slaughter each other because they smell different....)

Hello :)
I decided to publish a small report on how my ants are doing in their big house :)

I accelerated all this 10 times and accompanied it with good music to make it more interesting to watch :) It turned out to be good material for observation and relaxation :)

Closest genera we have are Veromessor, Novomessor, and Pogonomyrmex. I suppose we'll have to make do for monomorphic stinging ants.  :)

I am very glad that you like :) You can always watch them, I am ready to help you with this by shooting them on camera :) I just posted a video about their feeding which I shot on a microscope :)

But do not you ants breed messor structor? It seems to me that your climate zone should be something similar to ours. In any case, I am ready to help with observing this species :)

Messor structor are not native or introduced in my area. I’ll just make do with your videos unless I’m lucky to move back to the motherland someday.

I get the point, but that analogy is basically what humans are at this point. Feel great towards members of your community and hostile towards everything else.

Apparently small translation difficulties :(

I could understand that where you live Messor structor does not live.
As for the video, I could not quite understand :(

Unfortunately, people are afraid of something that they cannot understand, and they are trying to destroy everything that they are afraid of. Unfortunately, this applies to absolutely everything, including other people :(

But it can be fixed. Very difficult, but possible :)

In America, it is illegal to bring ants across state borders. Since Messor doesn't live anywhere in the continental United States, they would have to be imported from Europe, which would be illegal.
