Any good anting parks in Southern California

My advice is to avoid parks all together, just get out and explore. Although admittedly by sticking to parks you save the wide open spaces for me.

state/national forest and BLM land generally let you collect stuff.

not legal:

widlerness parks, open space preserves, county parks or state parks

again, unless written permission is given

written permission= scientific permit.

the chances of the average hobbyist ever attaining such permission are laughably minute so i don't bother mentioning that. gotta be careful too, some BLM or USFS land also doubles as a state or national park, mt san jacinto is an example.
