Hello everyone.

So, last night there was a big Camponotus flight with at least two different species here in Austin.

I caught one queen of each, and I caught a single male.

I think one of the species that flew is C. sansabeanus, and I'm not sure on the other.

I'm wondering if this male is C. sansabeanus or something else:

I've got no idea how to start ID'ing this male. I pinned him, so I can take more pictures if need be.

Also, the head is my first ever attempt at focus bracketing through my microscope.

I know it needs to be cleaned up some, but I think it came out well.

Camponotus males will get you no where. I wouldn't even waste your time with them.
