I'm making a vivarium and I need to know how to make a tank without silicone, because as most of us know ants can walk on silicone. Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Plants r cool
if this isn't a massive large tank then I would think one of those rounded fish tanks may work but might be too tall usually. That way, you have no sharp edges and no silicon so limited things ants could climb. To make a tank without silicon, I would think you need some kind of brace to hold the tank together, idk.
Ant Journal: http://www.formicult...-journal/<br> My colonies: C. Semitestaceus, P. Californicus, V. Pergandei, S. Xyloni.
I have a Tetramorium colony in an aquarium. I just put packing tape over the corners and threw fluon over that. Not the most aesthetic solution, but I haven't had any escapes yet.

I think AntStore in Germany just uses a very strong silicone adhesive and applies it only to the joints where glass touches glass, without the traditional thick bead. Unlike aquariums, these lightly adhered joints aren't strong enough to hold water pushing outward, but are strong enough to keep the container together.
It is possible to glue with polyurethane one-component adhesives. There is foam or simple options
The Ant-keeping world needs that five gallon escape proof lid you used to make! No cap.

Seconded. I love the look of those and was saddened to see that I couldn't get one, when I started thinking about using a tank.
