Good point. Mine still haven’t figured out to escape their AC outworld...yet.

They can chew the plastic tubes so easily. Its normal to replace each tubing every 3 weeks. I'm waiting until the day will come they escape. Although they can survive a long dry area. They really like it when i spray water. Tehy must have wood. There is a small tiny twig in their outworld. This is always full with lots of workers

Wa.Va., do you think if I put a big piece of soft wood in an enclosure that they would move in readily? I have failed miserably to move mine into anything, and I don't want to dump them. They're stubborn as heck.

I would move them into a more natural, yet observable nest. Like a Fortress.

My Crematogaster colonies combine into a little ball of condensed heart-butt when they're exposed to the cold (like in the fridge). You could probably try to cool them down and just dump the ball of worker out if they do the same

How about crematogastor food?
Mine don't like honey. Odd. They are frantic for sugar water though. If I put a drop on a fork tip or chopstick, they'll be chasing and drinking from it before I can drop it in their dish.
They don't love the crickets but will tolerate them. They didn't like ape and had some of cooked chicken.
Catching more here and there around my home.

Mine love flightless fruit flies, hunting them down or scavenging dead. You would think they are hard to contain but its pretty easyHow about crematogastor food?

Nice, looks like I'm going to have to keep an eye out for these little guys

Here’s a question for CrematoMasters: what kind of wood should I search out for a natural nest for C. cerasi? I’m hoping to find a cool looking piece of driftwood that’s soft enough for them to tunnel in.
Pine Pine Pine. And unless your dealing with an entirely arboreal species then I would definitely add dirt to the setup and partially submerge the wood in it. Also, you'll see Crematogaster nesting just underneath flat chunks of pine wood on the ground in the wild. They're not always in the wood, but rather using it for cover so that they can be as close to the hot surface as possible without being in the open.

Would a THA Formicarium work as well?

Hmmm.... i wonder where can I get flightless fruit flies in cannabis Canada?
I gave them some cooked hamburger tonight and they like that.

I like crematogastor because they're so chill. They just go at a slower speed than my other ants. My camponotus novaeboracensis are very chill too.
Question: my crematogastor have brought in debris from the outworld. I wonder if they're stock piling for winter. Looks like pieces of cricket. I wonder why?
I'm thinking of breaking up some old wood chips into tiny pieces. Maybe they would like that in their formicarium.

I’m sure they would like that.

I'd really like a crematogaster colony and i know there are some crematogaster colonies around my house.
I've got no idea when they fly though, and i can't find anything online about it.
Any CrematoMasters know?
Don't forget, I'm in Australia..

My first Crematogastor workers just eclosed yesterday
I'm probably going to wait for the rest of the pupa to eclose before I hibernate them.
