I finally got some workers! Yay!

Now what are they?

1. Location of collection: Amarillo, TX in a developed area. I'm pretty sure I caught the queen at night, but I'm not sure.

2. Date of collection: Around the first of August, nanitics eclosed 20th of September

3. Habitat of collection: Developed neighborhood

4. Length: Queen is 4mm, workers(nanitics) are around 2mm

5. Coloration, hue, pattern and texture: It looks like the queens head might have a rough texture, but it's hard to tell.

6. Distinguishing characteristics:

7. Anything else distinctive: They seem rather calm

Some species of Nylanderia. They're not easy to identify down to exact species.

Looks just like my N. vividula. However, like Aaron said, there are many similar species.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
