So I’m thinking about putting a bonsai tree in my setup I am planning to put my Formica Francoeuri colony in. Will they like it? Will they climb on it? And how can I get aphids?

I guarantee the ants will love it and climb on it. The issue I see is that bonsai are really high maintenance, which will be very hard to keep up with next to an active ant colony. Without all the root and branch pruning, you’ll end up with a normal tree sapling.

I honestly find normal tree saplings more attractive.

That said, I’ve been bonsai training an elm tree in a half-a**ed manner for three years now.
