Are these ants the same if yes what species
1. Bristol Connecticut North America
2. Found the queen 6 week ago I think
3. The queen was found in my pool and the wild worker was found under a brick
4. Her worker is 1/4 of a inch long the queen is half a inch long and the wild worker is 1/4 of a inch long
5. All have a dark red thorax
7. They queen and her worker are shy

Closer pictures, please. It's sort of hard to tell.

 

The wild worker is some Campnotus.

Queen looks like it could be a formica sp. and the worker is camponotus

Side shots are better, but those are certainly better pictures.

 

I think the queen may indeed be a Formica species. As for the wild worker, what habitat did you find her in, and are you sure those ants in the second set are the same kind?

The wild ants in the second set were a different colony. The habitat and a ant from the same original wild colony http://imgur.com/a/f1y0ZvT
