shopping on aliexpress when I see this "growth serum" and this is all I could think of

"Tired of sorting brood?  Want to quit grooming the queen?  Well now you can!  With just a simple drop of this substance, you'll go from a lowly minor to the great, exoskeleton cutting, super major you always wanted to be!  Only 10.99, two floors above the queen's brood chamber, third chamber to the left."

Eh, well I like Lasius flavus and alll...

But I don't think Milton Friedman should be defamed by being associated with the sedate flavus.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

I would say cordyceps is highly unlikely unless you are using wild caught feeders or soil/rocks from the garden.

nice, good to hear. I just hope I don't catch a queen that is infected and then spread it to the rest of my ants.

All male ants are [censored].

(but it's not their fault, they come from unfertilized eggs)
