I found an ant eating a smaller ant (I think it was an ant) the ant just took the tiny ant using their mouth and probably chewed the small ant.

I used the ants to destroy the ants

I guess you can feed ants to your ants, but I don't think that worker ants are very nutritional compared to crickets and mealworms. Feeding only ants wouldn't be optimal or provide a healthy supply of nutrition.

I feed queens and larvae to my ants all the time. Not workers though.

My journal featuring most of my ants.

My other journal featuring Formica Bradleyi.

My Stigmatomma love drinking the hemolymph of Tetramorium brood. Wouldn't recommend feeding workers though

They aren't very nutritious, I doubt the ants will be receptive, and if the ant you're feeding is alive then it may well kill your colony.

I tend to find my ants a small slice of ham or chicken. Very small.

During the times of nuptial flights I often find dead or dying male alates along with queens. They're a great boost of protein, energy and vitamins to a growing colony's larvae. Whenever a queen dies, I recycle it in one of my other colonies. For example, there are times where Lasius nearcticus and Lasius neoniger queens are internally parasitized by a tachinid fly larva and both larva/queen are excellent source of food. I usually boost other queens of the same genus with the orphaned brood. I have a soft spot for the helpless brood.   :)
