Within the first five minutes of arriving at our campsite(in the eastern sierras), I caught two of these queens. One is a bit smaller than the other, but they are cooperating well, and are tending the egg pile of 8 eggs. Like all Temnothorax, their eggs are rather big compared to the size of the queen. I don't think there is much documentation on this species other than habitat, so maybe I will learn something new about colony size. Hopefully they turn out to be a successful colony.
