I’m heading out to sequoia national park over Labor Day weekend to do some backpacking and am wondering if anyone know if it will be worth it to take some test tubes. Anyone know my chances of getting some queens up there?

Why would you not bring test tubes? I almost always have test tubes on me even I'm just going to the store. You never know when you might find a queen so better safe than sorry.
Lasius Neoniger (Around 23ish workers)
Tetramorium Immigran (8 Workers)
Myrmica Queen (Not 100% on species)
Formica Subsericea (No workers)

I’m a gram weenie so I try to only bring what I will for sure use and nothing more. But you’re right, I may as well have them.

Bring like ten tubes. That should be enough. Maybe more. You could catch many different genera there, like Lasius, Formica, and Temnothorax.
Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.
However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:
Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
