I suggest there should be a subforum in marketplace for just Pogonomyrmex occidentalis sellers and buyers. It would make sure the general marketplace doesn’t become too crowded.

Disagreed. A pinned topic? Sure. But a full subforum? No. We don't even have those for geographical regions.

But wouldn't one pinned topic for all P. occidentalis sales be a little confusing? There would be multiple vendors trying to sell queens while potential buyers are spending time actually clarifying which seller they're attempting to buy from.

No solution is perfect. Most certainly, though, we don’t need a whole subforum for them.

It would make it easier to buy and sell this species. we can always remove it if nobody is using it (i think?). i like the idea.

We could just create a separate post and allow anyone selling Pogonomyrmex occidentalis to offer them up for sale there instead of setting up an entire subforum for just one ant. Anyone who puts up an ad could be required to say when they ran out of queens to sell, after which a moderator could take down their ad.

Proverbs 6:6-8 New International Version (NIV)

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
    consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
    no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
    and gathers its food at harvest.

We sort of already discussed this.

A whole sub-forum seems overkill for something that's just like a new video game coming out, all hype for the first few months, then the market will be super saturated with Pogonomyrmex occidentalis and no one will want any because everyone will already have them haha. If the Market place subforum does get flooded, I think there's this little thing you can use called a Search Button, might make it easier to find stuff that either is or isn't occidentalis, still would have to sift through a little, but I'm doubtful that the whole sub-forum would become so saturated that it over-throws it.
