My rule of thumb is:

the test tube should be:

1 ant (facing sideways, 90 degrees from exit) wide

and 3 ~ 10 ants of space

Feed it small drops of honey and small pieces of feeder insect(1 section from the tail for mealworm, part of a leg for roach or cricket) I think about once every 2 or 3 days(going by my experience on trapjaws which I believe have similar care requirements)

And yes, AC really impacts the ant’s growth. As a person who also lives in a tropical country it is usual to have most of the house have AC units to keep out the heat. However as ants are cold-blooded their body temperature fluctuates with surrounding temperatures and affects their activity level. So by keeping ants in a AC-affected area they will become less active and take longer to grow. Thus I suggest you find a room in your house that doesn’t have a AC unit and make that your ‘ant room’ where you keep all your ants and feeder insects.

Feeder insects should be at any aquarium store as said feeders are mainly sold to feed predatory fish. You can just put honey on the test tube and she should drink it. You may also provide sugar granules if you don’t have honey. Try not to mix the protein with the honey.

You also don’t need to stick the cotton plug that far in. You should leave some space for your queen so you can put food and when she gets workers too.
