After abandoning the second chamber for about 14 days, the fungus looked poor, it looked like 2/3 had been removed and the floor of the chamber was left messy. I would see one worker wander in and out occasionally. Yesterday, there were 6 or 7 workers cleaning up the fungus and floor. They are now they are expanding the fungus - 4 to 6 workers, see picture below. The first chamber is now about 2/3 full. I have switched to drying the cactus fruit and smashing it into flakes. They are accepting that readily and it's easier to feed. With the fresh fruit, sometimes they would wait until it dried before using it. The other observation: the new workers are gradually getting bigger - notice the ones in back are bigger. Overall still not quite the same size as seen in the wild.
The black cactus seeds are about 0.6mm in diameter
