It was an ad for "Adult Tinder", and did actually have nudes.

From what I've seen in chat it seems that Drew is working on it/has probably fixed it by now.

Let's not repost the garbage on a forum thread as well.

Anyway, all those messages should be gone now. I'm currently working on removing it from everyone's message index.

Well, if there’s one good thing from it it dug an idle, inactive member out of dormancy. :D

One of these days I’ll find my formicariums and get something going again. Just saw a GORGEOUS Camponotus sp. worker and remembered I was looking to start or acquire a founding colony. Lovely ants.

This isn't going to happen I guess. If you don't want to see the message in your list of messages, you can just delete it.

Thanks Drew. Didn’t see this thread until now. I hope there is a way to stop this from happening again.

Drew it seems the forum has an invalid cert and so is everyone logging in with text in the clear? My pw was hacked and a bot sent me a phishing email containing the pw. I am guessing the site has been caught up in a trolling botnet seeking vulnerable sites and weak pws.

That's just a common email thing everyone is getting around the world.  They try to dig up [censored] from anywhere and paste it in an email.  Tons of sites have data breaches, but I don't think is is one of them.  I've gotten those emails several times and find it hilarious every time.

But a valid SSL certificate should still be used. You even get one for free from letsencrypt

Like Zeiss said, that is a very common phishing scam going around. You most likely used the same password on multiple sites, one of which got hacked. I am not aware of any breach that happened on this forum. Also a certificate has nothing to do with how passwords are stored on the website. I will add a certificate when I get the time, but since nobody should be transmitting sensitive information through an ant forum, it is not the highest of my priorities.

Edit: BTW, the website functions just fine on port 443, so you can connect with https all you want in the mean time, if it makes you feel better knowing that everything is encrypted. Obviously since there is no certificate, there is no guarantee you are connected to the actual forum, so while it's highly unlikely, I still would not recommend transmitting any sensitive data that way.
