Today I went out looking for formica queens and was surprised to discover that one of my local camponotus novaeboracensis colonies nesting under a log had another batch of alates, even though they stopped flying almost a month ago. Is this normal and is there certain conditions that trigger it? If so, does that mean that there will be two camponotus flights in the same year?

Not all alates fly at the first nuptial flight.

We should respect all forms of consciousness. The body is just a vessel, a mere hull.

I mean like they literally had no alates for a few weeks and all of a sudden have tons
