Found late June, already dead so I can't say when exactly they flew. The workers are around 6 mm and the queen is about 10 mm. workers are fast and aggressive and a light brown color.

I would need photos from all three angles (Head, top, and side), to confirm, but I'm leaning towards Formica francoeuri.
Formica sp. Needs location
His location is in the title, but I agree, he should follow the correct ID template and list it in his post as well.

I'm pretty sure it's from the F. fusca group. I would probably say F. subsericea, F. subaenescens, F. montana, or F. argentea.
"God made..... all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds (including ants). And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:25 NIV version
Keeping:
Formica cf. pallidefulva, cf. incerta, cf. argentea
Formica cf. aserva, cf. subintegra
