News from my anting escapes in Nova Scotia

It was so cool yesterday when my 5 year old daughter pointed out a beautiful camponotus novaeborcensis queen crawling along the base of our apartment (Yes, she ants with me frequently). We scooped it up and the ant was REALLY lively. Next she proceeded to remove her wings right in front of us. It was AMAZING!

We popped her in a test tube and she seems happy. I currently have a novaeboracensis colony so if you want... PM me.

The next good news is that when i placed her in my sock drawer I noticed my very unhappy Pennsylvanicus queen has since settled down and has a brood.

New outworld today for my novaeboracensis colony. The old outworld will be used for my tetramorium queen on the way.
