Well, Myrmecocystus in any case. Hard to say which species. 
Anyway, not a harvester, but a honeypot ant.

Caught this beauty today and am hoping she's a harvester ant. She's about 1/2" long and there were many harvester colonies near by.

I'm not much for ID's but that looks like Myrmecocystus mimicus to me.

No we had a late winter and when it came it was very cold. More snow than I have seen since 2004. We have also received more rainfall than usual lately. I live in west Texas and it's usually hot and arid. Very sandy. This week and part of last week it warmed up a lot. It has been in the upset 70's. It rained last night and today. Should be seeing more queens in a day or two!!!
